On 23^rd October 2025, Teesworks celebrated a remarkable milestone: five years of transforming the Tees Valley into a hub of opportunity, innovation and community growth.

The event, held at the picturesque Kirkleatham Walled Gardens, brought together local partners, stakeholders, apprentices and scholars from the Teesworks Skills Academy to reflect on the site’s progress and the difference it has made to the community.

Hosted by Nunthorpe local and broadcaster Kirsten O’Brien, the evening highlighted the heart of Teesworks’ mission: creating opportunities for local people while building the workforce of the future.

A standout moment came during a Q&A session with the Skills Academy apprentices and scholars, who shared their experiences and ambitions. Their stories of personal and professional growth perfectly captured how Teesworks is not only shaping the site but also empowering the people who call this region home.

The event also showcased the generosity and community spirit that are central to Teesworks. A charity auction in support of Teesworks Benevolent Foundation raised more than £47,000 for local charitable causes, including South Bank Community Grocery, Four All Café and Redcar Athletic Football Club. These contributions will fund initiatives driven by these organisations, enabling them to further strengthen community bonds.

Five years on, Teesworks continues to demonstrate what can be achieved when innovation, opportunity and community come together. From nurturing the next generation of talent through Teesworks Skills Academy to supporting local initiatives via Teesworks Benevolent Foundation, the site remains a symbol of growth, ambition and shared success.
